# Products

A **product** is what is manufactured on your machines. Every [production run](/en/resources/production-context/production-runs.md) is assigned to exactly one product. This is how ENLYZE knows what was produced at a given time and can derive product-specific expectations for the production.

## Why products matter

Production runs of the same product are considered together in ENLYZE. This enables a range of analyses:

* **Performance:** each product has its own maximum performance against which actual [performance](/en/concepts/performance.md) is measured (Maximum Demonstrated Speed).
* **Quality:** the [quality](/en/concepts/understanding-oee/quality.md) KPI is calculated per product.
* **Golden Run:** across all runs of a product, the [Golden Run](/en/production-optimization/golden-run.md) can be identified, i.e., the best run achieved so far.
* **Process control:** per product, target values and limits for variables can be defined in the [setup sheet](/en/resources/production-context/setup-sheets.md).

## Relationships

* A product is manufactured through one or more [production runs](/en/resources/production-context/production-runs.md).
* A product can have a [setup sheet](/en/resources/production-context/setup-sheets.md) per machine.
